Chain link fence (also known as diamond mesh or chain link fence) is a metal mesh protective facility made using a hook-and-weave process. With a diamond mesh structure at its core, it combines flexibility and strength. The mesh body is made of metal wires (such as low-carbon steel wire, stainless steel wire, galvanized wire, etc.) woven by machine, requiring no welding. It is flexible to install and widely used in sports, transportation, agriculture, and ecological protection.
Chain link fence is made from various materials. Different metal wires and surface treatments can be selected according to the application scenario and requirements:
• Low-carbon steel wire (Q235 iron wire): Economical and practical. The surface needs to be galvanized or plastic-coated to enhance corrosion resistance.
• Stainless steel wire (such as 304, 316, etc.): Highly corrosion-resistant, requiring no additional surface treatment, suitable for high salt spray or humid environments (such as seaside fencing).
• Galvanized wire: Formed with a zinc layer through hot-dip galvanizing, it boasts excellent rust resistance and a service life of over 12 years.
• PVC/PE coated wire: Coated with a plastic layer, it comes in a variety of colors (such as green and blue), combining corrosion resistance and aesthetics, making it suitable for landscaping projects.
• Aluminum alloy wire: Lightweight and corrosion-resistant, it is often used in weight-sensitive applications.
• Electro-galvanizing/Hot-dip galvanizing: The zinc layer isolates the wire from air and moisture, extending its service life.
• Dip coating/Powder coating: A plastic sol is evenly applied to the surface of the metal wire, forming a wear-resistant and UV-resistant protective layer.
• Plastic coating (PVC/PE coating): Directly coats the wire with plastic, offering a variety of color options.

• Elasticity and cushioning: The diamond-shaped mesh structure gives the net flexibility, effectively absorbing external impacts (such as ball impact protection in sports field fencing).
• Permeability and Drainage:The mesh design facilitates rainwater infiltration, reducing water pressure and making it suitable for slope protection.
• Easy Installation and Maintenance:No welding is required; the modular design (such as aluminum connectors) allows for flexible on-site cutting, reducing construction costs.
• Strong Corrosion Resistance:Galvanized or PVC coated wire resists acid and alkali corrosion and UV aging, providing a long outdoor service life of 10-20 years.
• Resistance to Deformation:The wire thickness (2.0-5.0mm) and mesh uniformity ensure that it is not prone to loosening or breakage over long-term use.
• Wide Range of Applications: From sports stadiums to mountain slope protection, from zoo enclosures to river reinforcement, meeting diverse needs.
• Extended Uses:Can be made into gabion mesh filled with stones for flood control embankments or ecological restoration projects.
2. Extreme Environmental Limitations: Long-term exposure to strong acid and alkali environments (such as chemical plants) may require special protective coatings.
3. Aesthetic Limitations: Exposed metal wires (without PVC coating) have a somewhat industrial look; PVC coating is necessary in landscape projects.

• Sports Field Fencing: PVC-coated chain link fencing (60×60mm mesh, 3.8mm wire diameter) is commonly used for basketball courts, tennis courts, and football fields, providing safety and isolation without obstructing the view.
• School Playgrounds: The elastic mesh cushions the impact of student activities, and the green PVC coating blends seamlessly into the environment.
• Highway/Railway Fences: PVC-coated chain link fencing is used for isolation zones or slope protection to prevent rockfalls and pedestrian intrusion.
• Urban Green Belts: Combining anti-climbing functionality with landscape harmony (e.g., dark green powder coating).
• Livestock Fencing: Stainless steel or galvanized chain link fencing is used for chicken, duck, and goose sheds, as well as zoo enclosures; it is breathable and easy to clean.
• Orchard/Vegetable Garden Protection: Prevents small animals from entering while ensuring ventilation and light penetration.
• Slope Protection: Chain link fencing stabilizes the soil, combined with hydroseeding technology to prevent soil erosion.
• Riverbed Gabion Mesh: The box structure filled with stones resists flood erosion and protects the stability of the embankment.
• Machinery and Equipment Protection: Isolates dangerous areas to prevent accidental entry.
• Construction Site Fencing: Temporary protection; quick to install and reusable.
